Back in 2008, it took approximately three weeks for investigators to determine, and publicize, that the locomotive engineer of the Metrolink commuter train was texting on his cellphone at or around the time he blew by the stop signal, accelerated to 47 mph and...you know the rest.
And.....back in 2013, it took less than one week to determine, and publicize, that use of a cell phone had distracted the locomotive engineer of the Spanish train as it entered a curve at twice the authorized speed.
And... it's been more than five weeks since the grade crossing accident on Metro-North Railroad that took six lives and.......(see below):
